Christmas and New Year in North Devon would be incomplete without a trip to the local pub. Expect roaring fires, delicious local food and a warm welcome at the bar. The Pig on the Hill is a local favourite – and it’s walking distance just up the road from our luxury cottages Not only does it serve great food and ales, but it hosts a lively New Year’s Eve party, too.

The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounding our six-acre farm offers some of North Devon’s most dramatic scenery. Our luxury holiday accommodation has private access to the South West Coast Path, which meanders over towering cliff-tops, east towards the historic market town of Bideford and west to Clovelly, a quaint fishing village which is particularly magical during the festive season. Enjoy a bracing Christmas Day walk before you settle into your luxury cottage for dinner and presents!
North Devon Christmas events
North Devon’s towns and villages take the festive season seriously. You’ll never be far from a traditional fair or market – perfect if you’ve left your Christmas shopping to the last minute or want to stock up on quality local produce. One of the most enchanting places to enjoy Christmas time at night is the ancient fishing village of Clovelly. The Christmas lights switch-on is a long-running tradition, with a procession along the cobbled streets led by a brass band and Christmas carols sung by a local choir. A hog roast, mulled wine and other festive treats are served at the Harbour and Lifeboat Station, where Father Christmas makes an appearance.

When searching please note that our changeover days for our larger cottages are either a Monday or Friday during peak season (April to October). Our 4 romantic, 2 person cottages can be booked for a min 2 night stay arriving any day of the week, all year round. Out of season we have flexible arrival dates for all our cottages.
