It is no secret that we love where we live. Our children are growing up here and we hope that, one day, we will have grandchildren living here, too. Westward Living is more than a business to us; it is an investment into our community and into our children’s homes, today and for generations to come. Green to the core. Our 60 acres of lush, green surroundings are a continual reminder to us that we need to respect our surroundings. When it comes to cleaning and maintenance, we use eco products that minimise the use of plastic and which are kind to the environment.
Reducing waste and supporting the local community. Westward Living Accommodation ranges from four-star to five-star gold. In order to maintain our exceptionally high standards, it is necessary for us to make sure that our linen and furnishings are in impeccable condition. Every time we upgrade, we donate redundant products to local charities that we support: Intagr8 and The North Devon Animal Ambulance
Keeping it local. By bringing people to our beautiful corner of the country, we are helping to improve the local economy. We encourage our guests to explore and visit fabulous locations, attractions and eateries in the surrounding area. We don’t stop at recommending local to our guests; we choose local for ourselves, too. From flowers to welcome packs, where possible, our produce is locally sourced. Guests can even collect their eggs from genuine locals - our very own hens!
Making the right choices. We are always looking to improve our guests’ experiences, as well as our environmental choices. We know that what is the “best” option today might not be the best tomorrow, and our team are constantly reviewing our suppliers and products to make sure that we are making sustainable, ethical choices.
For us, our guests become part of our extended family, be it for a day, a week or, as is often the case, a lifetime. We listen to feedback and suggestions and do our best to accommodate our guests’ needs, whether that is a map of local charging points for e-vehicles, tips on local restaurants that offer a vegan range, or information on local organic farm shops.
