Furlong Cottage has four bedrooms, three of which have en-suite bathrooms. The bright open-plan living space was designed so that families can enjoy quality time together, without feeling cramped. When you arrive at the cottage, enjoy a complimentary Devonshire cream tea and settle in on the big comfy sofas. During your downtime in the evenings or on a rainy day, gather round to watch a film on the 50-inch TV and snuggle in front of the authentic wood-burning stove. In the winter, Furlong Cottage gets super cosy with under-floor heating.
Outside, the garden is one of the cottage's best features. Fire up the barbecue on a warm summer's day and chill out on the sun loungers. If you're eager to get to the beach, Westward Ho!'s golden sands are just a three-minute drive away, or a 20-minute walk along the South West Coast Path. Families will love Westward Ho!, with its pretty tearooms and long stretch of sand, perfect for building grand sandcastles and exploring rock pools. Jump in the sea with a bodyboard to catch some waves. If there are any budding surfers in the family, the local surf school offers classes, as well as board and wetsuit hire.
When it comes to dining out, Westward Ho! has something for everyone. From authentic Italian and American cuisine to classic British fare and seafood, you'll be spoiled for choice. If you'd rather cook a meal at Furlong Cottage, there are many places to pick up delicious, fresh produce. If you're wiped out after a busy day at the beach, don't worry. We can send our executive chef and his team over to the cottage to cook a delicious menu, just for you.
Duckhaven Stud is the perfect setting for a family break. Say hello to our resident race horses and friendly farm animals during your stay. If you want to bring your beloved horse on holiday, there's plenty of space for them at Furlong Cottage's private paddock. For extra activities moments from Furlong Cottage, check out our play barn. We have facilities for table tennis, pool, table football and basketball, as well as a glorious small heated indoor plunge pool.
Furlong Cottage has private off-road parking for three cars and a bike rack, so you won't be stuck for space. It also has a wet room, making the cottage suitable for multi-generations. Cottage is located on a stud farm with a single track leading to front door
Space for unloading and loading is situated close to the front door. Parking of vehicles is directly in front of the cottage
Guests are able to preorder shopping but must be present to accept delivery
Information is given to all guests prior to arrival on local suppliers
Cottage is 100 meters from Bideford Bus route no 16 please check bus time table here
Cottage is easily accessible for taxis
Cottage is 12 miles from nearest train station at Barnstaple
Owners will assist with carrying luggage on arrival and departure, if required

Key collection is from the reception building during offices hours (Mon-Fri 9-5:30pm) For arrivals outside of office hours please call the office on 01237 238967 or 24-hour guest phone 07807 096997 to make suitable arrangements.
