Kala’s Cottage is named for one of our very own race horses, Kala Fair. And, like its namesake, we think that this cottage is something really quite special.
The fully equipped kitchen area is sleek and stylish; food lovers can cook together, dine out in one of many local eateries, or enjoy a private dining experience with our skilled head chef. On sunny days, you can open the patio doors and dine al fresco as the sun goes down; in cooler weather, there is no better way to end the day than curled up on one of the sumptuous sofas in front of the fire.
Upstairs, the open plan bedroom features a Parisian super king-size bed and views over the ocean. The ultimate in indulgent romance, this beautifully styled room features a stunning roll-top bath, Jack and Jill sinks, walk in shower and separate WC. French windows lead to the luxury balcony, complete with a two-person hot tub which has been perfectly positioned for sunsets and unrivalled views of the ocean.
After a tranquil night’s sleep, helped by zero light pollution and no passing traffic, you will wake up to the gentle sound of birdsong and, on some days, the sound of the ocean below. Part of the cottage's charm is being able to start the day collecting eggs straight from the hen coop for breakfast, before sipping a coffee on the balcony overlooking the paddocks as you feel the stresses of daily life drift away.
On a sunny day, there's no finer place to enjoy the view than from the cottage's private garden which is fully equipped with a Weber gas BBQ and sunloungers. However, if you do fancy exploring the area, Kala's Cottage is just a five-minute walk from the South West Coastal Footpath to Westward Ho!, where you can feel the sand between your toes, indulge in a little retail therapy, or just soak up the atmosphere of this quintessential seaside village.

Cottage is located on a stud farm with a single track leading to front door
Space for private parking is situated outside the front door
Guests are able to preorder shopping but must be present to accept delivery
Information is given to all guests prior to arrival on local suppliers

Cottage is 12 miles from nearest train station Barnstaple
Owners will assist with carrying luggage on arrival and departure

Key collection is from the reception building during offices hours (Mon-Fri 9-5:30pm) For arrivals outside of office hours please call the office on 01237 238967 or 24-hour guest phone 07807 096997 to make suitable arrangements. For guests arriving without a phone please knock on the door at main farm house “Duckhaven Stud” upon arrival.
