For us, our guests become part of our extended family, be it for a day, a week or, as is often the case, a lifetime. We listen to feedback and suggestions and do our best to accommodate our guests’ needs, whether that is a map of local charging points for e-vehicles, tips on local restaurants that offer a vegan range, or information on local organic farm shops.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about our environmental policy, we would love to hear from you. Just get in touch!
In the meantime, we hope to see you at our beautiful home in the future.

Totally perfect! These are the only words we can use to describe the hospitality and location at Dream Cottage. You made us feel so special, we love the personal touches and we will be back
The Grounds

We are very fortunate that all of our luxurious self-catering holiday cottages are located within the AONB.  Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are recognised as some of Britain's finest countryside, with landscapes of particularly distinctive character, remarkable natural beauty and high ecological value. They are protected by law to ensure the conservation and enhancement of their natural beauty; all of this is on our doorstep for you to enjoy during your visit to Westward Living. ┬áThis is an idyllic setting for our retired racehorses as they are able to live out their years with one of the best coastal views in the UK.
Mornings and early evenings you are likely to see a variety of wildlife including deer, foxes, badgers’ rabbits and hares. As our farm is a headland jutting out into the Atlantic a variety of migrating birds can often be seen.

The North Devon Coast AONB is one of a family of 'Protected Landscapes' in the South West. These include Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks and 12 other Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which together cover 37% of land in the South West Region.
The North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty are nationally designated to protect and conserve the 171 km2 of distinctive and magnificent coastal landscapes between the Cornish border and Exmoor National Park in Devon.
The landscape varies from wild coastal cliffs, spectacular waterfalls and rocky coves to sand dunes and beaches, wooded combes and valleys with sheltering villages.  All of our self-catering holiday cottages have private access on to the South West Coastal Footpath, we really are a haven for nature lovers and walkers.
Loving our environment
It is no secret that we love where we live.  Our children are growing up here and we hope that, one day, we will have grandchildren living here, too. Westward Living is more than a business to us; it is an investment into our community and into our children’s homes, today and for generations to come. It is, therefore, vital that we make decisions that are kind to the environment.
If you are looking for a green holiday, we would love to welcome you to Westward Living. Here are just a few reasons why we stand out for the conscientious holidaymaker:

  • Green to the core. Our 60 acres of lush, green surroundings are a continual reminder to us that we need to respect our surroundings. When it comes to cleaning and maintenance, we use eco products that minimise the use of plastic and which are kind to the environment.
  • Reducing waste and supporting the local community. Westward Living Accommodation ranges from four-star to five-star gold. In order to maintain our exceptionally high standards, it is necessary for us to make sure that our linen and furnishings are in impeccable condition. Every time we upgrade, we donate redundant products to local charities that we support: Intagr8 and The North Devon Animal Ambulance
  • Keeping it local. By bringing people to our beautiful corner of the country, we are helping to improve the local economy. We encourage our guests to explore and visit fabulous locations, attractions and eateries in the surrounding area. We don’t stop at recommending local to our guests; we choose local for ourselves, too. From flowers to welcome packs, where possible, our produce is locally sourced. Guests can even collect their eggs from genuine locals - our very own hens!
  • Making the right choices. We are always looking to improve our guests’ experiences, as well as our environmental choices. We know that what is the “best” option today might not be the best tomorrow, and our team are constantly reviewing our suppliers and products to make sure that we are making sustainable, ethical choices.
