The cottage is very popular with couples or families with young children, it has a large master bedroom, family bathroom and a full size bunk bedroom. With the fabulous blue flag rated beach of Westward Ho! moments away and 60-acres of farmland to explore, families will love staying at Duckhaven Stud.
This prestigious 4 star holiday cottage is named after one of our much loved race horses called Warm Winter who was a great racehorse in her day. You can see her Dad Kalaglow winning the George 6th in the picture above the fireplace . All our cottages are regularly visited and graded under the Visit England Scheme, Warm Winter has been awarded a fabulous four-star gold rating. The cottage has been furnished and equipped to a high standard. Two bedrooms, one double and a smaller room with bunk beds offer luxurious relaxing spaces with Egyptian cotton bedding. The lounge area has comfy three-seater sofa, armchair and an LCD TV, perfect for unwinding in after a day of exploring North Devon's coast and countryside. With an electric wood-burner effect fire, the cottage stays cosy all-year round.
Outside, Warm Winter Cottage takes advantage of its rural location and spectacular views. The cottage's intimate and enclosed patio offers lovely space to relax in the sunshine. Cook a tasty lunch on the barbecue and spend some quality family time outside. The kitchen window overlooks the chefs herb garden which is at its best in the summer months; feel free to pick fresh herbs throughout your stay.
Here at Duckhaven Stud, we encourage families to enjoy the rural North Devon lifestyle. Our resident race horses and friendly farm animals are all waiting to meet you!. Our beautiful free-range hens provide delicious eggs every morning, so why not collect a few in the morning for breakfast?
The beauty of staying at Duckhaven Stud is your proximity to the coast. Just one mile away, Westward Ho!'s two-mile sandy beach is the perfect spot for a day by the sea. Jump in the water with a body board or spend the day building spectacular sand castles. Surfers can hire boards and wetsuits at the beach, or if you're eager to learn, you can even book a lesson at the surf school. If you're looking for a bite to eat, the village is packed with family-friendly restaurants and tearooms.
Families will love visiting North Devon's top attractions. The Big Sheep and The Milky Way are very close by and are suitable for all weathers. Alternatively, our play barn is hugely popular! Feel free to play table football, table tennis, pool and basketball, or jump in the heated indoor plunge pool between May and September.

A single storey cottage located on a stud farm in Westward Ho!, with a floor space of 100 square meters with outside patio area and BBQ. Open plan lounge / dining / kitchen area with two bedrooms, one being a double with the other having bunk beds and family a bathroom.

Space for unloading and loading is situated outside the front door. Parking of vehicle 35 meters from cottage
Guests are able to preorder shopping but must be present to accept delivery
Information is given to all guests prior to arrival on local suppliers

Cottage is easily accessible for taxis
Cottage is 12 miles from nearest train station at Barnstaple
Owners will assist with carrying luggage on arrival and departure, if required

Key collection is from the reception building during offices hours (Mon-Fri 9-5:30pm) For arrivals outside of office hours please call the office on 01237 238967 or 24-hour guest phone 07807 096997 to make suitable arrangements. For guests arriving out of hours without a phone please knock on door at main farm house “Duckhaven Stud” upon arrival.
